Peter Mullen was born 11th January 1942. He is married to Lynne,and they have 4 children:
Petra, Karl; Thomas; and Charlotte.
He was ordained into the Church of England in 1970, serving as Curate in a number of North of England parishes before becoming Chaplain and Head of RE Whitecroft School, Bolton in 1974.
In 1977 he became Vicar of Tockwith and Bilton with Bickerton, Diocese of York, remaining there until 1989 when he was granted Licence to Officiate, York 1989-98

He became Rector of St Michael’s Cornhill & St Sepulchre-without-Newgate and
Chaplain to the Stock Exchange in1998 - about which he has written 'Holy Smoke:tales of a City Recror'.

No lover of the 'Happy slappy' or sentimental style of worship, he has edited a number of books, such as:
No Alternative: A Guide to the Prayer Book Controversy
Faking It: The Sentimentalisation of Society
The Real Common Worship

As well as being a 'City Rector', he is::
* broadcaster on Theology, Philosophy and Mahler
* commentator with more than 4000 articles British national newspapers & magazines, and regular columns in the Northern Echo, The Salisbury Review, Freedom Today and interestingly, the Catholic Herald
* lecturer e.g: for the United States Liberty Fund; College of Psychic Studies; Charles Lamb
Society; The Arts Club, (on e.g. Samuel Johnson; T.S. Eliot; G.K. Chesterton; T.E. Hulme)
* author having published many novels, short stories and works of a philosophical and theological nature.

He is a Freeman of the City of London, and an Honorary Freeman of the Guild of Air Pilots & Air Navigators and The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators

In addition to the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators he is chaplain to:
* The Worshipful Company of Cutlers
* The Worshipful Company of Fuellers
* The Worshipful Company of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators
* The Guild of Air Pilots & Air Navigators (GAPAN)
* The Worshipful Company of Woolmen

In his spare time, he enjoys music, books, keep fit, watching cricket (the latter helped by membership of the Middlesex County Cricket Club
